Near a beach that’s within Manuel Antonio National Park in Costa Rica, the Hotel Costa Verde doesn’t lack for great sights. But few are as amazing as its own 727 Fuselage Suite, a salvaged 1965 Boeing 727-100 that looks as if it’s crashed into the Costa Rican jungle (it’s actually […]
Colored bright-orange for easy visibility, the ’70s-era escape pods that make up the Capsule Hotel once hung outside oil rigs, ready to be deployed in case of an evacuation. Recycled by self-proclaimed “garbage architect” Denis Oudendijk, the fleet of pods now rotates among different moorings in the Netherlands and elsewhere […]
Joe’s Crab Shack plans to open several new stores in the coming months, breaking ranks with many other operators in the beleaguered casual-dining segment. “We are very optimistic,” said Kevin Cottingim, senior vice president of human resources for the 113-unit, Houston-based chain. “We had a pretty good year compared to the […]
Health Care is the topic of today. The thought of our government managing the nation’s health care system is very scary. We can’t even get the simple things right. How many of you are capable of filing your own tax returns? The very basics are so complicated that most Americans have to […]
This is one of my all time favorite books. I have read The 4 Hour Work Week three times and its a regular “go to” on my night stand. Those of you who know me, already know I will probably never retire, but if I was like most Americans, and followed […]
So fellow restaurant recruiters, do you think you could find restaurant managers for this concept? What are your thoughts? Do you think a restaurant with the Toilet Theme would work in your neighborhood? Would you eat here? Would you take your kids to this restaurant? This is pretty crazy! I […]

I’m sure many of you, if you’re in the recruitment or hospitality industry, have the same problem that I do – how to prepare great meals when you don’t have time (or in my case the skill!) to be a gourmet chef. Crock Pots can be a life saver! I […]

Your Recruitment Coach: How to Handle References
Recruiters Source the BEST Candidates for Your Company
I must tell you that we posted this EA job opportunity on Indeed and another site, and had a lot of applicants. After going through the timely process of elimination, we ended up with about 5 candidates to personally interview. The candidates that Marty has brought us were both much, much better than what we did on our own. I also asked both candidates how they felt about Marty as a recruiter, since we are recommending your company to all our franchisees, and they both had rave reviews about his follow up, sincerity and kindness. Just thought you would like to know that.
