Quick-service jobs often get a bad rap. But some operators are using employee benefits to lure—and retain—top talent. It’s no secret that employee turnover in the foodservice industry is one of the highest in the labor force. But while many quick-serve operators view high turnover as an inevitable part of […]
This is great news for our industry! It also creates many jobs for restaurant managers and recruiting opporunities. I feel great to be a part of such a growing industry. With U.S. restaurant visits and consumer spending increasing after a recessionary slump, a more upbeat industry posted a 0.5 percent […]

CKE Restaurants, parent company of the Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s brands, announced its intent to develop new Hardee’s restaurants throughout the Minneapolis Minnesota, area. The company is […]

By now, thanks to menu labeling laws in states like New York and California, slapping a calorie count on menuboards is old hat for many brands. But one brand has taken it a leap further. Last month, Pret A Manger—a sandwich chain with stores in markets like New York, Chicago, […]
One of the most difficult questions to answer (especially prior to an interview) is your salary requirement. There has been a significant increase in the number of online applications that are asking for this information. Obviously, if your salary requirement is too high you are screened out because you are […]
Practice Makes Perfect Think for a moment about great athletes. They certainly did not master their sport quickly or easily. It takes years of dedication and practice in order for them to reach perfection. Michael Jordan one of the greatest basketball players of all time was also the hardest working […]

Hospitality Recruiters Make the Best Match for You in Your Next Job!
Tom Schmitt was nothing but more than professional and courteous to me. He originally contacted me about a company looking for a General Manager. I was employed at the time, but not very happy in my situation. Tom talked to me in great detail in regards to the position he had. After careful consideration, I decided to pursue the opportunity. He helped me create a more professional resume to present to the company. He communicated to me on a daily basis as I went through the interview process. I was eventually given an offer for the General Manager position. I can honestly say that without Tom's help, I would still be in an unhappy job.
Thank you,
Roy Riddle

I had been searching for a restaurant management opportunity for about 4 weeks and had very little luck. I couldn't seem to find the "right" position or find the "right"person to help me. Then I came across the ad from Patrice and Associates recruiting for a kitchen manager for one of their clients. So I completed another application, submitted my resume and waited.
To my surprise, I received a phone call the next morning from Tom Schmitt, a recruiter with Patrice and Associates about an opportunity for a kitchen manager. Tom provided great details about the position, and the company. He asked questions about me as a potential employee and also about what interest me outside of work. He told me he would submit my resume and he believed I would be a great fit.
3 weeks later, I am in training with this concept and thoroughly enjoy every aspect of it. Tom was right.....it is a great fit! By using his personal knowledge of the restaurant business and his contacts gained over 20 plus years, he is a great recruiter.
