Almost 48 years after it was first published, “Mastering the Art of French Cooking” by Julia Child is finally topping the best-seller list, bringing with it all the butter, salt and goose fat that home chefs had largely abandoned. The book, given a huge lift from the recently released movie […]
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (Aug. 24, 2009) Sister chain Taco Bell may use the tag line “Think outside the bun,” but KFC actually is putting that philosophy into practice with the test of a new product: the Double Down. The “sandwich” replaces bread with two Original Recipe fried-chicken fillets that enclose bacon, Swiss […]
It’s nice when other blogs are talking about Patrice & Associates. Francorp is one of the top companies world-wide that help people franchise their business. Here is what was said on their blog. “When Patrice Rice came to meet us nearly a year ago, she had an extremely opportune situation. Rarely, […]
This restaurant has just moved to the top of my “bucket list”! World’s first ever undersea restaurant called Ithaa was opened at the Maldives Hilton Resort & Spa. Dine 5 metres below sea level at the Conrad Maldives Rangali Island’s unique underwater restaurant. Marvel at 360 views of reef and marine life, […]
Near a beach that’s within Manuel Antonio National Park in Costa Rica, the Hotel Costa Verde doesn’t lack for great sights. But few are as amazing as its own 727 Fuselage Suite, a salvaged 1965 Boeing 727-100 that looks as if it’s crashed into the Costa Rican jungle (it’s actually […]
Colored bright-orange for easy visibility, the ’70s-era escape pods that make up the Capsule Hotel once hung outside oil rigs, ready to be deployed in case of an evacuation. Recycled by self-proclaimed “garbage architect” Denis Oudendijk, the fleet of pods now rotates among different moorings in the Netherlands and elsewhere […]
Joe’s Crab Shack plans to open several new stores in the coming months, breaking ranks with many other operators in the beleaguered casual-dining segment. “We are very optimistic,” said Kevin Cottingim, senior vice president of human resources for the 113-unit, Houston-based chain. “We had a pretty good year compared to the […]
Health Care is the topic of today. The thought of our government managing the nation’s health care system is very scary. We can’t even get the simple things right. How many of you are capable of filing your own tax returns? The very basics are so complicated that most Americans have to […]
This is one of my all time favorite books. I have read The 4 Hour Work Week three times and its a regular “go to” on my night stand. Those of you who know me, already know I will probably never retire, but if I was like most Americans, and followed […]
I don’t know where to start. John absolutely is a god send. He walked me through my journey of getting a manager position at a great restaurant every step of the way. We probably talked 10 – 12 times on the phone, texted repeatedly and stayed in communication throughout the whole process. He gave me great tips for my interview and answered every question I had. Without his help I would never have had the opportunity to get this chance to work for this great company. I can’t thank him enough for everything he did for me. Thank you so much John, you’re the best!

Clay L. says that John Gatewood was an absolute Godsend!
There are not enough words to describe the man and the professional John is. I was in a difficult spot in my career and personal life. I thought I was done being a chef. Out of the blue John found me from an old application. I wasn’t trying to hear the same old spill that I’ve heard times before. Something in my gut said to stay and hear John out. John worked tirelessly and kept in constant communication, and I stayed the course with him. He even put his name on the line to get me in front of a higher up. Long story short I’m now in a better situation than I could have imagined. I will always recommend John to fellow chefs he wasn’t just lip service, John cares. And I appreciate him beyond words.
Michael B. doesn’t have enough words to describe John Gatewood’s professionalism!
I had a wonderful experience working with John to advance my career; he’s very attentive and professional. My first time trying to find a position with him was short-lived because the position had closed right when we moved forward. A month later, out of pure dedication to my success, he reached out, saying he didn’t like how our last attempt went and that if I was still in the market, he had another opportunity for me to look at. Now, John wasn’t just throwing useless positions at me to close a deal, so to speak. There was genuine effort to remember things about me that we discussed, my goals and personality, to present to me what would be nothing short of a perfect position where I and my new employer would be able to build a long term, positive relationship. I can tell Mr. Gatewood looks to place people where they will feel valued and stick around, not have you coming to look for another position in six months. If I have anyone looking to advance their career, I will definitely refer them to John, and I’m certain they will be pleased with the experience!
