Client OverviewOur Hospitality Client features a wonderful antique bar with French aperitifs, unique and traditional cocktails, an award-winning Rhône-Alone wine list, a seasonal menu, cheese & charcuterie platters, and outdoor garden patio seating. 170 seat, full service restaurant with bar, located right on Sonoma square.  Peak is summer (tourist season).  Country French cuisine, with focus on Rhone varietals.

Position Overview & Responsibilities

The Chef is to provide excellent quality, consistency and presentation of all food prepared for guests in the restaurant. The Chef is responsible for daily operations of the kitchen including management of staff, safety procedures, ordering, meeting company’s financial goals, facilities maintenance and continual staff training
  • Perform wide range of cooking techniques: sautéing, butchery, grilling, and other various cooking techniques in food
  • Oversee proper food handling, including washing, mixing, rinsing, portioning, and other food
  • Understand use of kitchen tools, knives, slicer, mixer, and other various kitchen
  • Understand use of all kitchen equipment according to established
  • Maintain kitchen facilities as required and directed by general
  • Understand and enforce all kitchen safety procedures.
  • Train employees; assign and direct work; appraise performance; reward and discipline employees; address complaints and resolve
  • Assist the restaurant in meeting financial
  • Maintain a complete and updated recipe and ordering books
  • Represent all kitchen staff members in weekly meetings

Position Requirements

  • Ability to provide or complete Food Handler certification and renew as necessary
  • Minimum 2 years Line Cook experience, 2 years Sous Chef experience and 1 year as catering chef as well as leadership skill in a high-volume environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating maintenance instructions, recipe books, and procedural
  • Computer literate and proficient in Excel & Word
  • Ability to put together reports, food audits and accurate labor and food cost
