Brian grew up in Spokane, Washington and joined the Marine Corps after he graduated high school. Throughout his time in the Marines, he traveled around the world, working with people from various cultures while visiting more than 10 countries along the way. These experiences provided Brian with the skills necessary to connect with people who may not speak the same language or have the same views and who all have very different life experiences. The common thing he found was that no matter people’s differences, they often want similar things. People want to be heard, respected, and treated fairly.
Those experiences opened his eyes to the impact that a leader has in an organization. A leader has the responsibility to not only make sure the business is profitable, clean, open on time, etc. but also to ensure their team is equipped with everything necessary to allow them to be successful. After seeing the importance of leadership, he went on to study Organizational Leadership at Gonzaga University. It was during this time that he was able to hone his own leadership skills as well as the skills necessary to evaluate organizations and see where they can make improvements.
