Testimonial – “Million Thanks”

While 2021 was a challenging year for everyone (and I am confident that we’re all looking forward to the seemingly “clean slate” that comes with a new year), it is important to always remember and celebrate the bright spots. The restaurant industry, in particular, has been on a rollercoaster ride for the last 2 years. While the lockdown and closures were a different animal, the “recovery” presented its own, new challenges. The tug-of-war between restaurant operators and owners saying “nobody wants to work” was met with equal and opposite reactions from restaurant professionals who felt undervalued, overworked, or just opted to leave the industry entirely.

However, there were plenty of success stories to be found amongst the chaos. When one of our hotel clients approached us to help them find a General Manager for one of their boutique properties, we knew it would be a challenging but rewarding search. While many companies out there were hoping to get back to how things were, this particular client recognized how the current labor market has changed, acknowledged the challenges facing workers in the hotel industry, and was ready to work together to move past all of the obstacles.

When we connected with our candidate Alek, it was immediately obvious that he was a motivated and passionate individual. He was receptive to coaching throughout the entire interview process, and we helped him and the client connect on all the key points of the job!

After getting the job offer and starting in his new role, Alek had this to say:

I would like to appreciate you one more time for your help and for this position. I enjoy every second of being here. I am very glad that I accepted this position. Property itself has so much to offer… I am also grateful for my staff. Believe it or not, I don’t even want to go home sometimes. For example, I did not take any day off this week.
