I started my career in the United States Army in 1998 right after I graduated high school. In my family you joined the military when you graduated high school unless you had a full ride to college. I enjoyed my time in the Army and was selected to be an Army Recruiter.
I absolutely loved working with these young men and women and giving them an opportunity that they might have never had previously. I recruited in an area where there wasn’t a lot of industry or opportunities post high school. I was able to help many start a career, get their college paid for or get their student loans repaid. I got out of the military and I loved recruiting so much that I decided to do it on the civilian side. The big “ah-ha!” moment for me was in 2008-2009 when the United States was going through a recession. Jobs were very hard to come by at that time and many families were suffering.
I was able to place candidates at some of their dream jobs and not only save their careers, but their homes, their marriages and so on. I saw the impact I had on their lives and I knew at that moment that recruiting was my calling. Since that time I have worked with some of the largest companies on the planet and have recruited for some very impressive and important roles. I came to Patrice and Associates because I was ready to be my own boss. I was tired of playing politics in Corporate America. I wanted to make a difference for candidates and clients, but I wanted it to be on my behalf and not for someone else.
