Position Overview & Responsibilities

A Kitchen Manager is responsible for the overall operations for the back of house and kitchen area of a restaurant. Kitchen managers hire staff, purchase food and stock, and make sure everyone is trained on proper food preparation and kitchen safety techniques. In addition, kitchen managers ensure that the companies standards are upheld: the food looks good and is cooked properly, the proportions are correct, and it is cooked and served quickly.

Position Requirements

  • You must have worked as a Kitchen Manager for at least 2 years
  • Your most recent restaurant experience must have been in a restaurant doing more than $2 million in annual sales
  • You must show good tenure by having had no more than 2 jobs in the last 5 years or no more than three jobs in the last nine years
  • You cannot be out of the restaurant industry for more than 6 months without a valid reason
  • Current ServSafe certification is a plus
