Position Overview & Responsibilities

General Managers' key role is to demonstrate leadership, ownership of responsibility for everything that occurs in the restaurant, and communication with their employees. In fulfilling this role, General Managers are expected to do the following:  
    • Function as the management representative chiefly responsible for the day-to-day supervision of all employees who work in their restaurant.
    • Directly supervise and oversee the work of all employees, including all managers and subordinate supervisors. Review schedules, developed by managers, for all employees who work in the restaurant.
    • Plan the work of all restaurant employees, assign work, prioritize work of personnel, and make changes to assignments and priorities based on an independent assessment of the restaurant's needs, the present volume of business, peak periods, the receipt of new inventory, the sales and merchandising opportunities perceived, and other factors deemed pertinent by you.
    • During the restaurant’s peak and, assist kitchen management staff with facilitating communication between front and back of the house employees, assigning and prioritizing work, and managing the line to prevent waste and to ensure prompt food service to customers with a quality food product.
    • Interview and hire restaurant staff based on your assessment of staffing needs, the labor budget, and labor costs. Train new employees and assign training responsibilities.
    • Manage the restaurant and the quality of work performed by all subordinates. Ensure proper hygiene of workers, cleanliness of the restaurant, and compliance with all applicable health standards.
    • Direct subordinates in the receipt, inventorying, stocking, organizing, and proper storage of food products, cleaning the restaurant, and performing housekeeping tasks.

  • 50 hour work week with 2 days off
  • 2 weeks paid vacation 1-5 years, 3 weeks 5-10 and 4 weeks 10+
  • Location closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas

Position Requirements

Qualified candidates should possess a minimum of 2+ years of current experience in a high volume, casual dining concept with HIGH ENERGY and where food is made from scratch.  
  • High school diploma and 2+ years of related experience and training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasking, hands-on environment.
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive and professional working relationships with all Managers, Hourly Team Members, and Guests.
