Position Overview & Responsibilities

  • Thoroughly understand the companies vision as the go-to “upscale neighborhood joint” for an outstanding dining experience and passionately invoke others to feel the same
  • Lead team member training processes; build a team
  • Financial accountability for kitchen operations
  • Kitchen facility management
  • Coach our standards for BOH and assist team members with the execution and polishing of their skills
  • Provide coaching and correction to team members not meeting our behavior or performance expectations
  • Schedule team members in a way that assures that shifts are staffed with adequate qualified staff
  • Do daily paperwork and shift reports
  • Monitor and maintain inventories to deliver menu items
  • Carefully monitor food costs for the restaurant
  • Conduct regular audits of all suppliers
  • Conduct pre-shift meetings with team members
  • Communicate often and clearly with FOH to ensure coordination
  • Resolve food concerns in a timely and thorough fashion
  • Proficient in expediting food in a timely organized manner
  • Pay close attention to kitchen safety, food safety and all housekeeping in BOH
  • Interview prospective team members and recommend follow on actions to the GM or Managing Partner
  • Other duties as required

Position Requirements

  • 5+ years OF FULL SERVICE culinary experience
  • Accreditation by a recognized culinary institute preferred
  • Has a strong, positive orientation to people
  • Coach and teacher
  • Handles stressful situations in a positive manner
  • Excellent communication and PC skills
  • Energetic and enthusiastic
  • Able to work irregular hours in order to connect with guests and team
  • Outgoing and approachable, with a desire to meet new people
  • Experience in foodservice, hospitality, upscale casual / fine dining is a must
  • Autonomous and independent to efficiently complete BOH tasks
  • Organized and possesses high detail orientation – pays attention to the small stuff
  • Strong sense of urgency
