Position Overview & Responsibilities

The Quality Manager develops and maintains an integrated quality system, which conforms to ISO 9001:2000, standard.  Must oversee all quality activities of the facility, develop training programs, and activities to monitor and improve quality of products and customer satisfaction. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Includes the following and other duties may be assigned:
  • Manage and supervise to include the Quality Auditors and Quality document control.
  • Work to improve quality of outgoing products
  • Work to improve communication of customer requirements, resolve customer concerns, and promote quality throughout organization
  • Work closely to improve/maintain quality of raw materials/ products
  • Relationships with vendors and contractors required to maintain quality products and resolve quality issues
  • Relationship with registrar & auditors required to obtain and maintain certifications.
  • ISO Management Representative
  • Maintain a quality program conforming to ISO 9001:2000
  • Oversee Corrective Action process
  • Train & promote quality throughout the organization
  • Lead quality improvement projects
  • Oversee internal auditing

Position Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 or more years of progressive Quality management experience in a manufacturing related environment.
  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in an organizational culture of high performance, employee involvement, and continuous improvement.
  • Excellent understanding of strategic and operational planning.
  • Proven ability to solve complex problems.
  • Solid working knowledge ISO 9001 standards.
  • Ability to partner with internal and external customers.
  • A very high degree of professionalism, detail orientation, high productivity, flexibility, and enthusiasm are required in this role.
  • Strong knowledge of and extensive experience with ERP tools/principles.
  • Proficient with PCs and Microsoft applications (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and Access).
  • Understanding of Lean Principles
  • BA/BS degree required or equivalent 5 to 7 years’ experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, Shop orders, product specifications and contract reviews.
  • Ability to write routine reports.
  • Ability to communicate effectively to management and employees of organization.
  • Geometry and Statistics required
  • Problem solving techniques required
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit and walk for long periods of time.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to both office and plant surroundings.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, certain areas required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE).
