Position Overview & Responsibilities

The General Manager's purpose is to direct all phases of F&B and retail operations to provide quality service and product to Club Members. Fiscal responsibility encompasses managing the financial viability of the F&B operations and retail while ensuring the Club meets all financial obligations.  
  • Develop departmental sales plan, in conjunction with the Club Ownership, including specific tactics for revenue generation. Motivate staff to achieve revenue goals in F&B and retail. Involve all personnel in generating revenue through constant communication on the importance of guest interaction and service.
  • Ensure all expense control systems are in place with close monitoring of all department expenses
  • Book entertainment and coordinate specific events
  • Maintain exceptional Guest and Member relations creating a quality environment through staffing, programming, service operations, and maintenance.
  • Identify opportunities for Member events, food and beverage services, golf and recreational facilities that satisfy on-going Member needs and implement to achieve revenue objectives.
  • Recruit, select and develop a qualified staff  to understand the relationships between value, Member Satisfaction and Member retention/attrition.
  • Actively participate in Club events, acting to facilitate Members to create their own value, making use of significant personal contact as a means of gathering feedback.

Position Requirements

  • Professional and polished
  • Prefer current experience 1-3 years as a General Manager in a Full-Service Restaurant
  • Ideal candidate will have Banquet or Catering Manager in Full Service Restaurant
  • Retail experience is preferred; Golf Course experience is nice to have but not absolutely necessary
  • At least two years in current role and ideal candidate will be in each company at least 3-5 years
  • Great written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong P&L Skills, managing sales growth, forecasting, leading labor for growth and food cost, as well as all controllable line items
  • Strong leadership skills with proven ability to build relationships with customers, vendors, and associates
  • Marketer who wants to be involved with the community
  • Passion for service, Team Training, development, inspiration and challenge
  • Understanding of Food & Beverage, ideally in Catering or Banquet functions from small to high-end with high end clientele
  • Understanding of member relations as they pertain to the club and growth
  • Understanding of retail sales and golf course operations preferred
