Position Overview & Responsibilities

  • Qualify good business leads over the phone
  • Handle calls in a timely manner (all calls should be returned within two hours)
  • Ability to make private dining and catering arrangements with the client, to include the following:
    • Menus / Pricing / Wine Selection / Audio/Visual Requirements / Billing Information
  • Distribute information in a timely manner to the appropriate areas of the restaurant
  • Remain in contact with the client prior to event to get final guarantees and method of payment prior to the function
  • Greet client/host at the time of their event and introduce them to the lead server and Manager
  • Follow-up to Function – phone calls to client the next day and thank you letter sent
  • Track repeat business, as well as, creating an easy method to trace files to encourage repeat business
  • Identify key markets that will generate the core business of the private room(s)
  • Develop marketing plan to target these markets
  • Participate in local organization with networking opportunities to gain potential business
  • Anticipate busy and slow periods in private dining and create an action plan to fill the slower periods
  • Develop plan to successfully market private dining for holiday parties, maximizing both space and revenue
  • Develop relationships with key retailers to help promote (rehearsal dinners, engagement parties, company meetings and events)
  • Work closely with management team to develop special events that will help market private dining
  • Budget/Forecast for each period and be able to explain why private dining sales are down

Position Requirements

  • 2 – 3 years previous sales experience, restaurant experience required (does not have to be managerial level restaurant, but preferred)
  • Multi-Tasker, Organized, Detail Oriented
  • Creative and Energetic
  • Interpersonal Skills, Team Player
  • Budget Management
  • Basic Computer Skills: Outlook, Word, Excel, etc. Caterese is a plus
