Health Care is the topic of today. The thought of our government managing the nation’s health care system is very scary. We can’t even get the simple things right. How many of you are capable of filing your own tax returns? The very basics are so complicated that most Americans have to pay someone specially trained to complete their annual tax return. Look at the new Cash for Clunkers Program that was supposed to stimulate the car industry. There are reports everywhere that states are not getting their money and of consumers taking 6 hours to complete an application. A friend of mine works for the Census Bureau and I think he summed it up superbly when he said “the government can’t even count people, how are they going to manage the nation’s health care system?”
This is a great video – hope you enjoy it.

When the government gets involved be afraid … be very afraid!

What a great video

Wow – I need to forward this to my father.

Scare tactics at it’s finest.

Wish I could think about theses ideas – this is very strong and says everything I am thinking.
August 20th, 2009 at 8:29 PM
oh come on – isn’t everyone entitled to health insurance.
August 20th, 2009 at 8:30 PM
I agree Fred – I’m tired of hearing all the negative. Put yourself in the shoes of someone with a sick child that cannot afford healthcare.
August 20th, 2009 at 8:31 PM
Are you kidding – I’m tired of paying for everyone else – I don’t make a lot of money and get sick of seeing others get free handouts.
August 20th, 2009 at 8:33 PM
I agree with you Julie and Fred – I provide health insurance to my family and pay for it myself – almost $500 a month. Others COULD afford it but CHOOSE not to – and they should get it free now? Not as long as I have a vote!

Well that was a great scare tactic video. So helpful in actually trying to encourage people to think on their own. What does this have to do the with recruiting hospitality managers?

Anyone thinking the government will do a good job with health care needs call any government agency and see exactly how easy it is to get an answer to your question, ever try to get a new SS card? Do it just for fun, anything government run is time consuming and fraught with waste.

Entitlement for Health Care… for all those who want it, be careful for what you ask for; If you think dealing with the customer service department at your local cable or utility company is a nightmare – just wait when you have to deal with the government to get a doctor’s appointment. Then your next nightmare will be trying to fix an incorrect charge on your bill. Anyone ever talk to the IRS?

A blog like this is good. Many different opinions and angles of view. Why don’t many people get into a room and work out the details without political posturing. I can image that most all want good healthcare for all US citzens. What we don’t want in an inefficient government trying to take over something so massive it could never run it efficiently..

So now I’m going to have to pay someone to fill out my medical forms just like I do with my taxes? When is America going to wake up and take off the blinders? I cannot believe anyone wants the government in their lives any more than they already are. Everything we do is controlled by the government as it is from how much money we bring home, to what kind of car is approved to drive, to how fast we can drive and are required to wear a seat belt and on and on … and the funny thing is “it’s for our protection”. American’s used to be able to protect themselves just fine without the government watching over us. Now we have cameras on the road and in the cities. Haven’t you heard? Big Brother is Watching – do not think that is a joke. Everything you do is monitored for “national security”, for “your own good” – we’d better stop this now before it’s too late … oops it already is!

What I have seen from these comments:
-People are selfish and americans are the one who go outside their country wants to help when they can’t even help themselves and their own people. Americans emphasize on human rights outside their country and pin point on other people business when themselves they are selfish and can’t help each other. Cannot bill Julie’s comments syaing don’t want to help people who can ‘t help themselves on health issue, disgusting judgement, do you go to church? I guess not!
Second, most people are against the new health reform proposal but really dont know what is in there. They keep on talking nonsense and lazy to read.
Third- For instance, when people were against the president’s speech to schools, non sense. When they found out shame on you, who have selfminded and pretend to be nice when u really not. I’m tired of pretenders and ignorant people ever posing to be smart when they are bnot. For instance Sarah Palin was zero candidate.

Well Janet it is pretty obvious which side of the fence you are on. You did see the great Obama speech last night? Although the “you lie” comment was inappropriate whenever have you heard that before in Congress? Did I miss something or did anybody hear anything concrete at all? Even Obama said he didn’t have all the details. Americans are sick to death of the government trying to control their lives, their money, their activities, the interest rates which control if they can buy a house, and now they want to control health care … all for “our own good”, “our protection”. American’s used to be able to and allowed to take care of themselves – now we have become nothing but sheep following the flock. It makes me so sick any more I don’t even want to watch the news.

Janet, how dare you ask someone if they go to church just because they don’t agree with you! Just because they don’t think Obama is wonderful and think people should be able to take care of themselves and more responsibility for themselves. Actually I do agree with many of your points but your outlandish remarks make people not take your seriously. I personally do think everyone should be “entitled” to health care but not “forced” into it. There are many charitable organizations in this country and many generous people that work miracles in many fields. Why couldn’t something like that be set up for people in need? There has to be an answer to help people in need without it be rammed down the throats of Americans by an inefficient government.

This is the one issue that the government SHOULD be involved in! I keep reading the same points from people who oppose – it’s all about not wanting to pay for someone else. Guess what – you already are!
Millions are on government-assisted health care that’s paid for by our tax dollars, yet those of us with jobs have inadequate health care or cannot afford the monthly cost. This is not just about covering those who go without. It’s about those who fall in the middle and are struggling. I agree the government is too involved in SOME areas, but this health care reform is long overdue.
If you don’t agree, fine. But at least get your facts straight. http://www.whitehouse.gov/issues/health_care/

P.S. Your so-called “inefficient government” is the same government that allows you to have your own business, build your own houses, and have the opportunity to achieve the American Dream. Next time you’re eating your steak and lobster or riding around in your Mercedes think about the workers who’ve harvested, created, or manufactured those products under low wages, and minimal or non-existent health care! Without them, you wouldn’t have the ability to live high on the hog.
